Exploring the Blockchain Promise in Palm Springs

More than a dozen Smith Soc members trekked to Palm Springs, California, for a weekend of discussion with scholar and investor George Gilder on the disruptive potential of blockchain technology. Participants explored how blockchain and cryptocurrency could transform finance, law, government, energy, shipping, and more by radically increasing security and eliminating the need for centralized authorities. There was even room for a field trip to the top of San Jacinto Peak, overlooking Coachella Valley!
