Right before Labor Day, young supporters of the Adam Smith Society from across the state of Texas gathered in Austin to participate in a robust discussion with Manhattan Institute president Reihan Salam and director of State and Local Policy Michael Hendrix. The Manhattan Institute, in a recent study, found that the issues plaguing cities and the problems that the median voter care about had a significant overlap when partisan labels were removed. Reihan and Michael shared these findings with this esteemed group and solicited feedback from our members on how they are working in their communities to challenge the narrative that practical policy solutions are inherently partisan.
