Last month, members from our student and professional chapters trekked to Edinburgh, Scotland for a weekend immersed in the texts of Adam Smith and local culture where he spent many years. In discussions led by Adam Smith scholar Dr. Craig Smith, the group dissected the moral, political, and economic philosophy of our namesake.
Reacting to the trek, one attendee wrote, "Incredible doesn't begin to describe a series of panels with Adam Smith Society and Manhattan Institute all the way in Edinburgh. To those who haven't read Smith, his economic ideas are rooted in philosophy and morality, and discussing these ideas made for some very interesting conversation about its implications today."
