Hidden Costs of Renewable Energy, Cronyism Under Discussion in Dallas

July 27, 2017

On July 26, Smith Soc professional members from the Dallas-Ft. Worth area gathered for a salon dinner with MI Senior Fellow Robert Bryce. His recently-published  National Review essay about the hidden costs of renewable energy served as a starting point for the evening's discussion, which also touched on how government mandates and subsidies, classic instruments of crony capitalism, keep renewable costs artificially low, and serve to distort the market. Bryce and the group were eager to discuss these topics and others related to America’s energy future. With new members and Smith Soc veterans in attendance, we’re hoping this will be the first of many events in the Dallas area this coming year.
