Bud Brigham Chairman of Brigham Resources Bud Brigham is an energy entrepreneur having founded several primarily upstream energy enterprises, two of which have been sold for combined proceeds of approximately $7 billion. Currently active enterprises include Brigham Minerals, which pursues mineral acquisitions in top tier shale domestic shale resource plays, and Brigham Exploration, which is also active in top tier shale resource plays pursuing non-operated working interests. Brigham also founded Atlas Permian Water and Atlas Sand, which are pursuing water and sand infrastructure projects in the Permian Basin. Brigham Development is a real estate enterprise acquiring and developing surface real estate in active US shale plays. Bud founded Brigham Exploration Company in 1990 and served as its President, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board until its sale to Statoil ASA in December 2011. Bud subsequently founded Anthem Ventures as a family enterprise, and teamed with others to found Brigham Resources for oil and gas investments primarily targeting operated horizontal drilling and fraccing projects in domestic unconventional reservoirs. Bud began his career in Houston as a seismic data processing geophysicist for Western Geophysical, a provider of 3-D seismic services, after earning his B.S. in Geophysics from the University of Texas. Bud has served on the National Petroleum Council, the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG), the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG), the Independent Producers Association of America (IPAA), the Society of Independent Professional Earth Scientists (SIPES), and The Bureau of Economic Geology Visiting Committee. He was inducted into the All American Wildcatters in April 2012, and in April, 2015 Bud accepted and joined the University of Texas Chancellor’s Council Executive Committee. |
