The Adam Smith Society’s “Health Care 2040” conference in San Francisco explored the future of health-care innovation with business leaders, experts and policymakers—including Dr. Scott Gottlieb, former commissioner of the FDA.

The event focused on a variety of health-care topics, such as alternative models to hospital care, disruptive healthcare innovation, the latest in pharma, policy challenges, and more. Additional speakers were George Savage, co-founder of Proteus Digital Health; Daniel Liljenquist, chief strategy officer of Intermountain Healthcare; Sally Pipes, president of Pacific Research Institute; Yoona Kim, PhD, CEO of Arine; Sebastian Seiguer, CEO of emocha Mobile Health; and many more.

This event was for professional members across the country and student members in the Bay area. It was not a “mega-meeting,” but rather an intimate conference where members met innovative health-care business leaders, participated in small breakout sessions with funders and executives, and got to know Smith Soc members from around the country.
