The UVA Darden Smith Soc chapter co-sponsored, along with the UVA chapter of the Federalist Society, a panel discussion on tax law and tax reform entitled, “Tax Reform Alternatives for the 21st Century”. The participants were Rep. Bob Woodall (GA-7) of the U.S. House of Representatives (a fair-tax advocate); Scott Hodge, President of the Tax Foundation (an expert on dynamic scoring); Becky Norton Dunlop, VP of External Affairs, Heritage Foundation (advocating for a flat tax); and Professor George Lin of the UVA Law School (the former chief of staff of the U.S. Congress' Joint Committee on Taxation). The moderator was Professor Mary Margaret Frank of UVA-Darden. The panel was held on the evening of November 20.
