What excites you most about wealth management?
There is never a dull moment within wealth management. I spent this past summer running around and seeing all kinds of situations, and I never had a repeat experience. Variety is a spice of life, and that’s what gets me up in the morning. I love trying to get a pulse on the market every morning , and it’s something I’ve been doing for years when investing myself…doing that for a career seems like a natural fit.
What has been the most memorable part of your MBA journey? (You don’t need to say Smith Soc!)
At Rice we have a global field experience class, where they take us aboard to learn about conducting business in a foreign country. This past May I spent two weeks in Bogota and Medellin, Colombia, and it was a life-changing experience. The food, the people, the vibrant culture—there is nothing like experiencing it firsthand.
Favorite Smith Soc event? Either student or national?
I love the national Case Competition—there is nothing like getting some of the best MBA minds around the country and hearing about how they approach the same problem. Even though I did not compete last year, Rice hosted the event and I got to spend time with other members and build my network. We at Rice liked the idea so much, we decided to have our own Rice chapter Case Comp last month!
