Learning to lead organizations of all sectors and sizes while keeping the free market in the forefront.

In local, self-governing chapters as well as at our nationally-organized retreats, Smith Soc’s members learn leadership practices directly from proven, established figures in the business world as well as from each other.

Leadership is a key part of the Adam Smith Society's mission. Through participation in the Society's programs, members are exposed to some of the most succesful, accomplished, and inspiring business leaders. At the same time, because our student chapters are self-governing, members apply their exsiting business experience as well as what they are learning from their business school curricula to organize, maintain, and grow a campus-based organization.

The business leaders who have spoken to our chapters and at our national meeting are not only known for their ahcievements but for their belief in the institutions and ideals of the free market. Our speakers have included: John Allison, author and former CEO of BB&T;  John F. Crowley, Chairman & CEO Of Amicus Therapeutics, Inc. (whose story was the subject of the film, Extraordinary Measures); Steven Klinsky, Founder & CEO of New Mountain Capital and founder of charter school company Victory Schools;  Daniel Loeb, Founder of ThirdPoint LLC; John Mackey, Founder and CEO of Whole Foods Markets, and founder of Conscious Capitalism; and Anthony Scaramucci, Founder of SkyBridge Capital.
