The Smith Soc Readers’ Roundtable is a virtual quarterly book club exclusively for Smith Soc professional members who want to dive deeper into some of today’s most insightful and influential books on free market ideas and public policy. Participants are invited to two virtual events for each book – a small, peer-driven group discussion, followed by an author talk.

Jason L. Riley Senior Fellow

Jason Riley is a senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute and a columnist for the Wall Street Journal. After joining the Journal in 1994, he was named a senior editorial writer in 2000 and a member of the editorial board in 2005. Jason writes opinion pieces on politics, economics, education, immigration, and race. He is the author of numerous books, including Let Them In: The Case for Open Borders (2008), Please Stop Helping Us: How Liberals Make It Harder for Blacks to Succeed (2014), and his most recent book, False Black Power?
